St. Johns Mavericks

     The Mavericks were easily able to reload (as they always do!) last year, and continue playing a consistently high level of lacrosse that is fun to watch and play against. In 2009 they again made it to finals of both SPC and TGHSLL.
     They won the SPC tournament, beating local rival Episcopal in the championship game in what became a shootout with both teams running the fast break seemingly all game long! In TGHSLL action, they made it to the championship game for 5th year in a row, losing to SPC rival Hockaday in the final.
      While they graduated yet another strong senior class, they grow those types of players on trees over there at the corner of Alabama and Buffalo Speedway, and thus will continue to be the dominant force, and the top team in Division 1 until someone is able to knock them off!
