The Mustangs were able to reload in 2009 after a run to the state tournament, and put together a remarkable late-season run of their own. Despite coming up just short of a return trip to state losing by one to St. Johns, the Stangs had a lot to be proud of. It was truly a very fun year.
The Mustangs said goodbye to a special senior class of 2009 that was the inaugural group who began playing in middle school in our area. While they of course will be missed, the Mustangs are farther along than they were at this point last year, with a really good group of players that already is meshing well. However, they have a lot of very hard work to do to be able to keep pace with the top teams in D1, as the competition is even stronger this year.
